instead of putting new plastics on i might end up turning it into a streetfighter with a racing905 crash cage. i think it'll be about the same costs to redo mine, or get a cage, remove the fairings and make me a nose fairing with some hid's in it or something of the nature. this is the type of cage i was looking at:

I used to have a Katana with an Racing 905 cage on it and the build quality was terrible, very hard to install. I bought a freestyle ingenuity cage and never looked back. It was a much better fit and finish.

streetfighters are not cool. I'm sure many will disagree with me, but I think they look like unfinshed sport bikes. Blah.

Yea I dont really like them either, but I guess if you arent a very good stunt rider and you wreck a lot then its cheaper than relplacing all the plastics and looks better than riding the bike with plastics hanging off like Ryan's.

people take off the fairings cause it removes alot of weight from them and makes it easier to do wheelies, and balance it out.. not because they crash alot. the only fairing stunters usually break is the nose, and that's why they use flyscreens instead. when i had all the fairings off, my bike would do a power wheelie without even trying. with everything on you're lucky to even start one in first gear without sliding to the back seat. those fairings, headlight assemblies, windscreens etc... weigh 20+ pounds

streetfighters definitely aren't the prettiest things in the world, but i like 'em cause there aren't that many of them. everyone and their brother has a sport bike with polished this and polished that, i'm not into that stuff, that's why i didn't want to polish the frame on the ninja.. i gave the bling thing a run with that r6, and it looked good, but it just wasn't my thing.

luckily i won the auction for the cage at $103.. heck of a good deal for a cage with nothing but minor rash on it

if u have to take the plastics off i wont like them, cause i like full bodied bikes with the whole engine etc covered, like the gsr, r6, etc

Me too. I have never liked the looks of a bare bike. Some people like them, some people don't. To each their own

Oh sorry I guess that wasn't your yellow bike that I got behind Sunday evening in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Who's ever it was the entire rear section of plastic was twisted and it looked like the license plate was barely even hanging on. Did Doebler sell his jacket to someone because it looked like the rider was wearing his old jacket with road rash on it.

i wouldn't waste the money on them if i had your bike, if you're only getting them to protect the fairings. fairings on my bike are around $300 each without any grapics on them.
