Will you be allowing trans brakes? Delay boxes?

Just wondering what I might be up against in my 5-speed car if I come down. It could be fun but if there are a bunch of V8 auto's with trans brakes it makes it not so much fun for my car anymore.

Robert

I don't think you will see any of that stuff in the 1/4 mile stuff. Haven't seen many 11 sec. cars with trans brakes. That is what we have the 1/8 mile race for, the faster cars.

This is just for fun. We don't want to be out there crawling all over everyone's car teching them out. Lets just keep it simple and if it goes well we can do something more the next time. But please just help us get this off the ground and fun day at the race track that all can enjoy.

P.S. We could probably use a few people to do some of the tech work we will have. Any volunteers. (check for tags and Ins, kinda stuff)

Sounds good to me! I'll see if I can't drag a few DSM guys down there to have some fun.

How strict is actual tech going to be? Say my battery is in the trunk but I don't have a kill switch?

I vote for that tech should be just like at Clay City :D Other than the rules you've posted that is, tags, insurance, interior, dot tires, etc.

I cant say for stuff like your battery. That is a track thing. Other than Track Rules all I stated is all we will be checking for. I will tell everyone to please bring a Helmet, I know 13.99 you must have one.

I've got my battery in the trunk. They didn't check for the cutoff switch but they checked to see if it was vented.

Damn, I can't fit in my car, and still be able to drive, with a helmet. Too much of a ghetto lean needed to fit the helmet in the car then I can't shift.

If they're that strict I guess I'll have to pass and just keep going to test n' tune at Clay City. Sorry guys :(

06-10-2008, 10:36 PM
well i know they say its require if you are 13.99 or faster but i have ran many time back to back low 12s with no helmet on fridays . but that was on test and tune night.

But i have a helmet if Ky streets is requiring it to run its a little Ghetto spray painted Full face Dirt bike helmet but it works lol

Robert
06-11-2008, 04:33 PM
Well I would like for everyone to come. I don't know the rules and how strict they are or for that matter if there will be enough people on the grounds to check if your car has a windshield or not. All I can say is give it a try and if they tell you to were a helmet please put one on. I never were one in my Bullitt at 13.60's but I won't promise anything.

more important question would be how good are your brakes?

Robert

nope run what ever you want.

Ok guys this is just for fun. I don't want to ruffle any feathers, so do you really want people out there checking every inch of every car. If so I need volunteers to do so.

Also if you want to grudge match someone look at there car and see what you are getting into. We might be able to set some dial ins for the tree.

I'll volunteer for tech inspections if you need me. I've got an open face helmet I'll bring if someone needs to borrow one. I just want to make a couple of passes to see what mine will do.

Also I say we just check for plate, insurance, dot tires, and the track rules.

if you want to enter the K O T S race you better read and meet the rules.

Robert
06-21-2008, 10:34 AM
The Shootout is getting close everyone be reminded of it and remind and or tell everyone else about it. We want a good turn out so that we can keep doing this in the future. Also, so we can get better dates for it, spring and fall. If we have a nice turn out I will have no problem setting up a late fall Shootout this year.

So please show up and bring some friends on the board or not. Racing or not. Come one come all.

Robert

Robert

I think everyone should read the rules one more time esp. if you are planning on running in the KOTS race.

Just some ideas I had. Won't be disappointed if they aren't used, just throwing them out there.

Ford vs Chevy (GM) eliminations. Have FoMoCo side, and a GM side. Winners met for a final. Limit the entries to a certain number (all depends on how many of each are there, but also don't want too many running that it will take too long).

Burnout Contest.

I'd like to see something done at the shootout that relates to the site's top 10 list too. What exactly I haven't had an idea on though.

Usually have open TnT as well so even if it can't race in a tournament - if they even set one up - you can still run it.

I also like the street tire rule but I really don't care what the rules are, I am just a camera guy. :p

BLWN_VNM

I think we should have a bracket race maybe and then maybe a street tire shootout of some sort.

Robert
10-01-2009, 11:14 PM
well we will see what everyone wants when we get there. It does no good on here. I have tried time and time again. To set something up but when it comes down to it you guys just want to TnT. Which there is nothing wrong with that.

Heard that Robert, I guess most guys on the forum arent really much or bracket racers and so on. But I am up for it, What about spreading the word on a possible payout race ( maybe an index race or something) and tell everone we are basing pay off on the amount of cars that show up?

BigRod
10-02-2009, 01:19 AM
I don't mind bracket or index racing, then again I guess we dont have enough slow cars to run a 14 second index lol.

Robert
10-02-2009, 08:34 AM
Sure Colby you can tell people that. Loudmouth was supposed to be checking in on something for me along those lines anyway. Also we may have a huge grude match race going on for some major coin

BLWN_VNM
10-02-2009, 11:55 AM
Can you guys figure up how much of a pay out the class would recieve say if they have a field of oh 10 cars??

I seen you hauling your car down 80 the other day. I hate to hear you had problems at the track. Atleast it's an easy and cheap fix. I can't wait to see ol' red lay it it down.
