i am sure there is, it's so funny how they are talking about rotary engines and throwing in stuff that has nothing to do with it and it's so funny.. the ending top's it off

The one with the mustang is some dude telling everyone it's a special edition Mustang with a Rotary engine.
How did you get a video of me?! LOL!
The sad part is, if you drive a rotary you meet people like this. If you wanna blow people's minds just tell'm it's a two rotor, if their dumb they inherently ask later how many cylinder's it has.

I had a guy tell me his rotary was the same thing as a 4 cylinder, just turned on it's side and turbo. "Really? I didn't know you could do that to an RX8"
(Coincidentally, isn't that called a WRX?)
lol

That's pretty much how I'd describe a WRX. lol
I've got so frustrated trying to explain a rotary to some people that I've just broken down and was like "Ya sure it's a 4 cylinder".

I tell them it acts like a turbine and they believe me, it's not really that accurate, but it's the best description I can give some people.
Ya, I've actually got a Rotary Key Chain that I used to have when I drove the 7 everyday. It helped explain it to some people. Sometimes you've just got to send them to howstuffworks.com.

I used to carry an old rotor and housing in my car so when people asked "what the hell is a rotary engine?"
I would pull it out and be like "air comes in, this thing is called a rotor and it turns, this is called a housing and it holds the rotor, the rotors turns and compress air and fuel, then theres a spark, and it goes out the exhuast."
People still couldn't really understand, even with a play by play.
So now I've just got an awesome DVD/Video game holder. A rotor on one side, the housing on the other.
I would have schooled that guy bad haha.
2nd gen RX-7's were offered in NA and Turbo in every year except 86. 87 was the first year for the "Turbo II" duh!
Also 1st gens came with a 13B also, along with the 3rd gens. 3rd gens were only offered in twin turbo. In the USA there was never a turbo 1st gen offered, only the 13B equipped GSL-SE.

Sadly, I meet guys like this about every time I pull up and get out of my car "Yo what kinda engine in dat ting yo" I ALWAYS tell a ricer, its just a V6 and walk off to keep from hearing about their awd eclipse with a 2jz supra engine in it that runs 6s in the quarter. Think I am kidding about the part in bold letters? NO, that's word for word. He didn't even own an "Eclipse" (talon) until months and months ago which is still sitting in pieces I guess still awaiting that 2JZ.
I have enough to sit and type here all day long. Just like two nights ago outside the tattoo shop in Barbourville I was getting some work done, walk out to take a break and everyone outside is standing in front of my Nissan, one saying that his buddies 03 350z runs low 12s all day long stock.. must be a special color or something.

Dude, there was a guy around a year or so back with an intake/exhaust 350Z that claimed he ran low 12's. Had 2 other people in Nissans with him and his ladyfriend. I raced him from a 60 kick. Went to 120 and I was dead even with him. I mean dead to the balls even. Had my girl in the car with me at the time as well. So we were pretty damn even for mods.
We pulled over at a gas station, me, him, and his buddies, we talking about the mods to both cars, and he finally asked what I ran because I ran awfully damn good for a Mustang. It was about this time that he said he ran lower 12's. I didn't know how to take him, so I was like "well, when it dead hooks on slicks it will turn a 14.0"
I looked back at the 350Z guy and his face was as red as your 300.
There is also an Eclipse with a fart can on it that lives a building down from me, the owner told me to my face that my car wouldn't be any kind of a race for it, because with the full stereo system it ran a 13.0! Eclipse, 420A, fart can. 13.0.
I was holding my nitrous bottle getting ready to strap it in the trunk. >.< I suppose I had one of those Deer in the headlights expressions.
I got away as quickly as possible, then had a good long laugh when I was behind closed doors!, poor guy.

Ha, You guys need to get a job in a parts house if you wanna here the seriously stupid stuff. I had a kid in the other day asking for a clutch for his RX7, His words, "Hey, I got an 85 RX7 6Cyl, I need a clutch" After asking if was turbo or na, He went and popped the hood, came back and asked what a turbo was. After we finally came to the conclusion that it was an NA 2 rotor car. I then asked what kind of 6cyl swap he did. His reply "Well the guy I got it from a few days ago said it was a 6cyl because it had 6 plugs, and if it has plugs it has to have cylinders" At this point I priced him a clutch kit and ended the conversation, I couldn't continue much longer without laughing at him and they tend to frown on me when I laugh at ppl. Heck Tyree can remember some of the jewels from his days behind the counter.

I took my MX6 to AutoZone one time and they refused to run a OBD2 scan on it because they don't do rotaries. I popped the hood and showed them the engine, with 4 plugs in a LINE across the top, and the guy looked at me, serious as a heart attack and said "OH, it's turbo too? I bet it screams!"
I about died.

That's awesome! Turbo even.
Back when i was in the 12v game, I had a kid bring a prelude in, H22 Non Vtec Car. Had some clear tail lights and big ugly wing. He then proceeded to tell me that it was a "super turbo charged" (his words not mine) model that didn't need Vtec, but required 93 octane race fuel. Seeing as how I had just sold him a Cd player 4 Speakers, amp and Subs. I followed along with the game and asked him to educate me on his power adders. He pulled out the owners manual showing premium fuel was recommended, in his world that meant it was fast i guess. As I was running power wire from the battery he pointed to his belt less superchager, IE intake manifold, Of course you couldn't see the turbo charger for the factory heat shield on the exhaust manifold :2thumbsup:

I can see why rotary engines freak normal people out, they should. They aren't as conventional as a typical piston engine found in 99% of cars. They just don't know any better. The problem is when they are one of those types of people and come in acting like they know EXACTLY what they are talking about and are often hard to argue otherwise. Sucks for them. Should have sold him a tiny clutch from a Samuri or something, put it under gilberts account lol
But yeah you saying that about customers does remind me of one good one from back then. This chick came in with a 02 or 03 Lexus SUV which was BRAND new at the time needing a new light bulb, can't remember which one. Anyways I told her she would have to take it back to the Lexus dealer OR possibly try the local Toyota lot like two doors down. Acting completely appalled she says "Its a Lexus, not some Japanese piece of shit Toyota". My jaw dropped because she literally snapped at me and left. Other than people taking paint out to "match the color", changing the battery on a sebring for the first time, dealing with asshole garages and last but not least shirtless rednecks that would come in with a broken 12 year old part asking to return it for a full refund, I miss that place :)

I don't know what it is about some 350z owners I really don't. I don't think my car is the shit by any means, I make fun of it often ask Jared. But I sure as hell don't gloat its unGodly power like most 350Z owners. Mine did finally run a 12 though :P
This guy told a friend of mine that 300zx TTs were slow as shit and his 350z would eat me alive. This was months and months ago when the car was plagued with problems and just really didn't run good. I told my friend that if his buddy wanted a friendly run we would kick it. The only rule he had was that I turn the boost down to 12 psi. I said ok. He was the only person in his car, I had the camera man. Here are the vids from that night..
From a dig. I launched to low and fell on my face but it picked back up a split second later and that was pretty much it. I let off exactly 34 seconds into the vid.

Here it is, same setups but from a roll. I let off at around 32 seconds into this vid.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/tt-300z...oost_158276.htm (http://videos.streetfire.net/video/tt-300zx-on-stock-boost_158276.htm)
I really wanted him to race me on 17psi (2psi difference alone in these cars is a WORLD of difference) when we pulled into the gas station but he didn't want to run anymore. It was fun though.

Ya I've actually been trying to locate the stock 1st gen Rx-7 turbo manifold and throttle body. They're pretty hard to find, but finding Turbo First Gens is getting easier it seems. (Although pricy.)Apparently there are some people importing them still.
Hey Loudmouth, just curious but did that car actually have six plugs? I'm only asking because if it does I would like to find it because with six plugs it is a 3 rotor. (Possibly 13G or 20B.) Rotary's use 2 plugs per rotor the bottom one is leading the top one trailing. The bottom is for intial fire and the second is for after burn in order to reduce emissions, and simultaneeously increase peformance.

I didn't walk out to look, It was cold I had shorts on I had already established that the kid had no clue so I didn't put in the effort to go out side and look. If by some chance he comes back in to get the clutch, I'll make it a point to look.
