Well I am not backing down at all i would love to come race you all,but i have to work from 12:00 to 4:00 and then from 6:00 to 12:00 friday all day,But yeah I would love to run some of you all...Yes we will race but not friday sorry guys if i had knew sooner then today and i could have asked off then i would have for sure

Oh, James, about your proof. I had totally forgotten about Tony's car, and I even stood up for him when he posted about it. However, I don't feel that his car is the "rule" so to speak. I also don't feel that there aren't others out there, it's just something I have a hard time finding.

Joe pretty much took the words out of my mouth. I was thinking about this a little this morning. People love to talk sh_t about other people and their cars. Sometimes they'll even make ridiculous sigs like "v8s are like tampons". But then when someone bothers to respond, they're like "f__k this sh_t, I'm leaving the site!"

It's a double standard. If you talk sh_t to other people, you should expect to get some of it right back. Especially if you're not backing up the sh_t-talk with legitimate performance.

I'm almost 33 yrs old. I should know better than to get involved in ******* contests on the internet... but if you look back at all of the people I've ever gotten into it with on this board and on SS, it was almost always because they were talking sh_t about other people's cars like they were billy badass but they couldn't back it up! That just irks me. It's even worse then, when someone calls them on it and they can't take the heat.

So manks, if you're leaving, it's a shame. We could use some four cylinders around here that aren't stuck in the 18s in the quarter... but if you can't take the heat, I guess you'd better step outta the kitchen. Good luck. See ya around.

I will be honest here. The biggest thing that pisses me off is how partial that this site is to v8s. Every one that becomes a member on here with a decent running v8 has every one lining up to swing off their balls. Even the v8s that run like shit will probably receive a lot of good comments. Any car entheusiest that starts on here that is trying to build or even drive anything other than the :bowdown: "GREAT EIGHT" :bowdown: is is in for a big gets nothing but crap for it. Its like if you dont drive a camaro or a mustang like 95% of the people in this town than you dont know shit about cars. I am sorry but I do not agree. I guess i am totaly wrong in my thinking, but it does not really impress me to see someone buy a car that comes with 300+ hp from the factory, put some boltons than a big shot of nawwss on it, than go run 13s.To me this takes alot less skill and knowledge than building something with half the motor, for way less than half the price, and be able to go out and play a little bit with the :bowdown:" GREAT EIGHT" :bowdown: . What does impress me is a engine, any engine V8,6s or fours, that is making close to 150hp per litre. My little engine is probably close to that and I have just started. That joey guy with the turbo integra has a car that is very impressive to me. Some of you have given him a hard time about his car, but I would like to challenge you to try it.Make your car run 4+ seconds faster than it does from the factory. Then you would deffinitely have a impressive car. That's the way I used to look at things with my Tercel and Protege. They may not be the quickest, but at least I was unique.

Nowdays I simply don't care tho.....

Yup. You can swap out the 1.8 V-6 with a 5 speed and put in a KLZE with a 5 speed and or use the sub-frame from a Protege/323 and swap in a BPT with a 5 speed and have a killer car! You can make those cars look good for next to nothing too. As someday I will own one.

Yeah, I have read into them. I also had every single part to do a KL-03 swap into one, or and RS/LS swap with an MX6. I used to be very deep into Mazda's, and then it hit me.

Reliability. I wants it.

So I got away from the entire MX line, because other than the Miata, the MX series aren't really known for their reliability. I busted 2 trannies, 6 half shafts, and 3 clutches with my 118HP FS-02. Not to mention, the MX3 is the ugliest SOB Mazda ever built, but that is largely a eye of the beholder thing.

Instead of having 5-7K dollars in a Good Looking MX3/KL03 and running at best a high 13. I spent 7K on a 13 second car (stock everything) and never looked back, granted I don't get 32mpg (28) HWY, but I don't worry about breaking parts very often either.

I hear you, but it was still ALL Mazda parts, so Ford themselves didn't actually contribute. In fact, it's because of Ford that Mazda's are reliable and so well put together now. The Mazda 6 and Ford Mustang are the only two vehicles in the world that are built to such tight body tolerances.

I heard that it use to run 13's but then he took a lot of the performance stuff off. We are talking about something I heard in Monticello however so that may not even be close. I have heard that I use to be on meth in monticello once upon a time and I have still yet to see the shit so........

Yeah, he fed me a line about how it had ran 13's this that and the other, and it turned out at that time he had never had it on the strip. I don't know what it will run, be he was certain that it would do a mid 13 back then with the cams. He talked a big game about the car, but I never once saw anything remotely impressive out of it.
