Same size as a .45 ACP with higher pressure and suppose to have less recoil, somehow.

I thought it was bigger? Like a 10mm compared to a .40S&W? Every gun I've seen chambered for it had a compensator, I guess that would be the reduced recoil? What about prices, and availability?

Case is a little longer but the bullet is seated deeper so it is the same lenght, and autos have to have a compensator. And yea the compensator is to let the higher pressure die down. I have no idea about the price and availability, I just remember seeing a thread about them not too long ago on a gun forum.
For some reason I am just now remembering this but a lot of you gun guys might like this website. It searches for different ammo suppliers and gives you prices in bulk and a link to buy them, breaks the cost down into cost per round for each one and lets you search by caliber. I got some AR ammo off of it and need to get some more. Last I checked they had 1000 rounds for $250.

lmaoIt is pretty handy, especially if you shoot a lot. They have deals on guns and other stuff too but the best deals I have found were on ammo.

Going to Wal-Mart tomorrow to buy some ammo, and going to see my FFL to get a Mosin.
79.99 for a Mosin-Nagant 91-30 is about the best I have seen for a while.

Very low. Several hundred rounds for less than 100 dollars. Like 800 rounds or so.

Let me know what kind of shape that rifle is in when you get it. Maybe post up some pics if you don't mind. If it is pretty nice I might pick one up.

Yea me and some friends are getting 4 between us if they are all good when you get yours in.
My Mosin is in GREAT shape. 80 bucks and I picked mine up from Centerfire up in Versailles back when they had a butt load. No FFL needed and it was my 21st b-day so the guy said he'd pick a good one.
Ammo is frickn CHEAP. But watch for those that are more corrosive cause it's a bia to take apart and fully clean.

ALL Mosin Ammo is corrosive, even if it says it isn't. At least, that's what some Mosin "experts" that I have spoken too have claimed...

check out that gun deals link, there is also a bunch on gunbroker.com for some good prices. Some are rough and down to like 50 bucks and some look pretty dang good and go up to about 150 or 200. I plan to order one from the gundeals link as long as it turns out for anti and i don't find a better deal on gunbroker.
